Pittsburgh Pirates Winter Caravan

The Pittsburgh Pirates Winter Caravan is coming to Seven Springs!


On Sun., Jan. 13, fans will have the opportunity to meet players Tom Gorzelanny, Matt Capps and Nate McLouth and new manager John Russell along with former Pirates manager Chuck Tanner and broadcasters Lanny Frattare and Bob Walk. Pirates President Frank Coonelly and Senior Vice President and General Manager Neal Huntington will also be appearing. The Caravan is a traveling “Hot Stove League” that will visit communities in Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia from Jan. 13 through Jan. 24 to meet with fans and build enthusiasm for the 2008 baseball season. 
 
The Caravan’s stop at Seven Springs will be in Convention Hall with a free autograph session, games and live events from 5 - 9 p.m. In addition to signing autographs, Pirates players will take part in a question-and-answer session with the fans. Pirates’ announcers Lanny Frattare and Bob Walk will conduct a Pirates trivia contest, host a Pirates version of the television show “Deal Or No Deal” and host a We Are Fam-A-Lee Feud session.
 
Other activities at Seven Springs will include a Pirates bounce inflatable for kids, chuck-a-luck wheel, face painter and caricaturist.  The Canonball Crew and the Pirate Parrot will also be on hand to entertain the crowd. Fans will also have the opportunity to purchase tickets for the Pirates Home Opener on Mon., April 7, against the Chicago Cubs and Somerset community day tickets. Information on Pirates season ticket and eight pack ticket plans will also be available.
