Tucked away in a secluded area of the Laurel Highlands is Fin ‘n Feather, a beautiful, rustic retreat, the absolute perfect location to relax, enjoy the mountain air and gorgeous surroundings. Built in the early 1920’s, Fin ‘n Feather was originally a horse training establishment known as The Corral.
Back then, the Corral was owned by Nan Anna Blough, an accomplished horse trainer who regularly trained 30 horses at a time. It seems Anna was quite the baker, too. Local farmers would often bring their horses to be trained and leave with a sampling of her pastries, which she baked in what is now the downstairs bedroom.
Remnants of The Corral are still evident. The ladies’ mounting steps are still intact in the back of the present parking lot. A sawmill stood where the putting green is today and the beams for the living room and the original chestnut siding were cut here.
At Fin ‘n Feather, you can unwind in a variety of ways. In the spring, summer and fall, fishing buffs can test their skill in the trout ponds or stream. Brush up on your golf skills on our par three practice holes and putting green. Or you can hike the numerous trails around the compound, play badminton, croquet, bocce, horseshoes, darts, pocket billiards and cards. When the snow falls, take a hike through the surrounding winter wonderland, gather in the game room and play billiards or card games and share stories.
We invite you to come up to Seven Springs Mountain Resort and Fin ‘n Feather and enjoy a completely different experience. For more information or to plan your event, please contact our reservations department at (866) 437-1300.
