Lemoncello750 mL bottle of your preferred vodka 2 whole lemons 2 cups sugar 2 cups water Take the vodka and pour into a large container. Zest and juice the lemons and add to the vodka. Seal the container tightly and store in the refrigerator or freezer for three to seven days. After the first infusion, make a simple syrup with the sugar and water. Allow the syrup to cool and add to the container with the lemon-infused vodka. Store in the freezer for another week. Strain the lemoncello through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth to remove any lemon seeds or zest. Serve chilled, straight up or on the rocks, or in a sugar lined martini glass with a lemon wedge. |
