Butch's Smack Your Lips BBQ

Basting mop clenched in one fist, steering wheel in the other, rolling cooking pit rattling behind, Butch Lupinetti is back on the road. His destination could be Chicago, Minneapolis, Cedar Rapids or anyplace in between. But the outcome will never change. Butch will pour sweat for 20 hours a day, standing in a cloud of wood smoke, exquisitely charring tons of pork ribs, beef briskets and chickens. When it’s over he’ll be loaded and rolling again; very likely with a huge trophy and a check.

Nationally Butch has been repeatedly recognized as one of America’s great barbecue chefs. Butch has been actively competing in competitions since 1992. He has won over 400 awards, including a Grand Champion win for the State of New Jersey – a Kansas City BBQ Society sanctioned event, the Jack Daniels Invitational BBQ and The Best In The West Cook-Off in Sparks, Nevada, the super bowl of barbecue competition events, just to name a few. During those events, his sauce has won 1st place in contests such as the Great America Rib Cook-Off contest held in Cleveland, Ohio. In 2014, Butch's Smack Your Lips BBQ won Best Ribs, Best Sauce and People's Choice awards at the Seven Springs Rib & Wing Festival.

Pigfoot BBQ

Pigfoot BBQ Co. is owned by Jerry and Debbie Gibson. They started competing in Rib Cook-Offs in 1982 in Cleveland, Ohio at the National Rib Cook-Off, which was the first Rib Cook-Off as we know them now. Jerry and Debbie began competing professionally in 1989 and have traveled the country from Florida to Toronto, as far west as St. Louis and as far east as Boston.

Along the way they have won over 250 Awards for Best Ribs and Sauce. Including seven time winner of the People’s Choice Award in Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Best Ribs and Sauce National Ribfest, Naperville, Illinois; Peoples Choice Greatest Ribs in America, Cleveland, Ohio; Best Sauce and Ribs Twin Cities Ribfest; Best Ribs in Ohio six years straight and many more awards.

Mojo's

Since our origination, we have been traveling around the country competing and winning at many of the major rib festivals. Although our specialty is our St. Louis style ribs, we are also famous for our pulled pork sandwiches. We offer three award winning sauces including “Hickory Lickin’,” “Smokin’” and our too hot for most, “Freakin’ Hot.” So, if you have never tried our BBQ, give us a taste and get your MOJO’S WORKIN!

Texas Outlaw's BBQ

Texas Outlaw BBQ, from Elizabethtown, KY, is the world's only three-time, first place winner of the world's largest rib cook-off "Nugget Best of the West Cook-Off" held in Reno, Nevada.

After Hours BBQ

Once upon a hot summer day in 2013, two local guys Alan Schroer and Josh Crall, experimented with cooking during the after hours of their day jobs and took on the challenge of barbecuing after much encouragement from family and friends. With courageous enthusiasm they put their barbecuing skills to the test at Orrville's 2013 rib fest. After winning both Judge's and People's Choice their journey was only beginning. They decided that in 2014 they wanted to try their hands at more rib festivals, and some outside their local area. So far they feel as though they have been a success and it is all due to the wonderful support of the people who continue to come out and eat their home cooked food. They are thankful for all the support, beginning with their wives at home to the people who come back asking for more.

Hard edged, rock and roll with fine lyrics from the ringmaster, Mr. Joe Grushecky. More than just a "bar band", a Joe Grushecky & The Houserockers show is one of the best shows you will see, hands down! And here are the guys that are currently making it happen.

Elias Khouri | 5-6:30 p.m. | East Stage

Elias Khouri is a Pittsburgh born and raised guitarist, who is making strides at becoming a popular figure in the Pittsburgh music scene.

Elias started playing guitar when he was 13 years old, playing mostly air guitar to his dad’s record collection. His dad’s collection is comprised of nearly every genre. But Elias’ was into guitar, as the instrument that took front stage and that’s where Rock bands such as Led Zeppelin, Santana, Aerosmith, and The Eagles became his main focus. After acting out the part, he now wanted to be a Rock Star. One summer day his dad heard him playing air guitar to Eddie Van Halen’s lead guitar and his dad made him a bet that he could never play it, the bet was $100. Elias practiced for 6 weeks straight day and night, playing the tune and imitating it, until he finally got it. He called his dad in the room and played it for him, earning his first $100. As time went by, he focused mainly on the music of the 70’s, the energy, the depth and the soul of that music gave Elias the drive to become more and more like his rock and roll idols. By 14 years old, Elias was already getting the attention of folk and rock and roll local musicians, by attending and performing at the area’s open mic sessions. But it wasn’t very easy at first, here comes this kid with a afro and a guitar, ha ha ha...yeah, he was the new kid in town and he did not look like everyone else and he could tell that they did not take him seriously. Until, he got up on stage and he started playing and all you heard were screams and cheers and loud ongoing applause. They heard the sound of his guitar and they watched the energy and intensity of each note as he played and immediately this doubt was replaced with instant respect. By 15 years old, Elias started exploring other styles of music, exploring Soul and R&B groups from the late 60s and early 70s, but still staying true to his original style, Rock & Roll, as he started playing steady gigs and shows at local venues.

As more and more people began to accept this new kid, it gave him the confidence to go out there and become what he always dreamed he could be, and by doing this he realized something important, he is making a difference. This difference may be small to some, but the small ones are important, especially when younger kids come up to him and say, how do you do that, I want to play just like you, this is the change that he brings, this is the hope that he brings, this is the joy that he brings. At the High School that Elias attends he tries to be as much an inspiration to other aspiring musicians as he can. He helps others realize that they too can do it, just put in the time and the effort and the reward is there. Also keeping grounded is important to him. It’s not about making yourself seem pretentious, everyone wants to be a star, but it comes down to your attitude and how you are perceived and how down to earth you can remain through it all. On social media, Elias has had friends comment that he is the best guitarist they know, and his reply is thanks, I am the best guitarist on my block, lol. His philosophy is that, he not trying to be the best, he does it because he loves to play and if playing can bring him happiness, then that is all he needs. As far as changing perceptions as an African American Rock & Roll artist, his views are that he cannot change the world, he can only be a part of it and be that change.
